Kunle has worked with organisations in the public sector, voluntary sector and commercial entrerprises to identify the barriers to opportunity and equality at work for diverse black and brown ethnic communities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds, for many years. As a Co-opted member of the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities he has used this learning to help inform how government, public and private sector groups understand the challenge of racism in our society, and develop approaches, attitudes and policies to addressing it. This includes work on the Windrush Working Group and the CRED Report, recently responded to by Government. In his talk at the Symposium he will discuss this experience and view of where the barriers to opportunity for minorities are today, how far we have come in the last 50 years to contextualise this, and key issues and principles in looking at our priorities next to ensure true equality, and regenerate a constructive atmosphere of community and solidarity in society and the workplace.
