Economic Growth & its Discontents
On the first day we will trace what economic growth has been in the UK in context. We want to look at what different techniques have been used to stimulate growth, why it seems to have taken a back seat in policy and culture. Here, we ask some key questions:
- What does growth look like in the UK today, and where have we come from? Including exploring London’s role in driving growth in the UK.
- How has growth become a controversial topic?
- Why does it still matter so much, and how should we make the case for it?
